This is a lovely presentation of a Simon and Halbig 950 in her all original folklore costume. She is beautifully displayed in her glass dome with her dog. She has a perfect solid dome head and a closed mouth. She is in overall excellent aged condition. Here are the details:
Shoulderhead: Her head is perfect with no cracks, chips or hairlines. She has beautiful blue spiraled eyes and a closed pouty mouth. She wears a lovely auburn mohair wig that has a center part and lots of curls in back. She has a solid dome with a faint circle where the head opening would normally be cut. This is a common feature in S&H dolls with solid dome heads. She is marked SH 950. Factory imperfections: darkened mold lines below the ears. Signs of wear: None – mint condition.
Body: She has a cloth body with bisque arms. Her bisque arms are perfect with cupped hands. I am unable to examine the cloth portions of her body as her clothes have never been removed.
Clothes: She is fully dressed in her complete regional costume. She wears a cotton blouse, a velvet vest decorated with chains and beads, velvet skirt, red silk apron, gauzy slip, cotton bloomers, black stockings and adorable tiny black leather slip-on shoes. Finally she wear her lacy bonnet. A few beads are missing on her vest and the silk apron has wear. The remainder of the costume is perfection.
Dome and Dog: Her glass dome has a wooden base. The base measures 6.5" across and the dome is 12.5" high overall. She stands on a multi-colored rug. Her companion is a white spaniel-type bisque dog. He measures 2" tall and 3" long.
